City winger Kerolin could become our latest international winner when she lines up for Brazil in the Copa America final.
The Selecao face Colombia in Sunday’s final in Ecuador at 22:00 (UK) as they aim to win it for a fifth successive time.
Brazil have been in outstanding form, having won four of their five matches at the tournament so far, including a 5-1 victory of Uruguay in the semi-finals.
However, they drew 0-0 with Colombia in the group stage and Brazil's opponents reached the final after a penalty shootout win over Argentina in Quito.
Kerolin has featured in all-but one of Brazil’s fixtures, scoring a hat-trick in the 6-0 victory over Bolivia.
And she could follow in the footsteps of Joie Stadium team-mates Alex Greenwood, Lauren Hemp, Jess Park and Khiara Keating who celebrated European Championship success with England earlier in the summer.
Ahead of the tournament, the 25-year-old who won the Copa America in 2022, told the Official Man City Podcast about her pride of playing for her country.
“I think when you play for your national team, it’s always a dream. So I just feel really happy, it’s an honour,” she said.
“So when I’m there [on international duty] I’m going to try my best for my whole country, for my family and my friends. So I just feel really excited and I really believe that people are saying to me now that at my age I’m going to start my best moments so I’m working really hard to see that.
“My previous experiences have given me courage and to be brave and to believe. And the coach gives us the freedom to be us.”
