Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic was apologetic when discussing the Serie A title race, but admits Inter Milan are deserving winners.

The Bianconeri kept pace with the Nerazzurri until January, but a mid-season collapse allowed Simone Inzaghi’s men to march towards the finish line almost unchallenged.

Inter secured the title with five rounds to spare while the Old Lady fell to fourth place in the Serie A standings.

Nevertheless, the club achieved its announced objectives by securing Champions League qualification for next season.

Max Allegri’s men also clinched the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night by beating Atalanta 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Vlahovic was one of the main protagonists in the victory, as he scored the early goal that decided the encounter.

Therefore, the Serbian was ecstatic after earning his first piece of silverware in Italy.

“Now I find it difficult to speak, so I can only thank everyone,” said the 24-year-old in his post-match interview with Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“You all know the difficulties we faced. But in the end, we achieved the objectives we set at the beginning of the season.”

Yet, Vlahovic still felt he needed to apologize to Juventus fans for his team’s shortcomings in the Scudetto race.

“We are sorry for the Scudetto race, but Inter deservedly won.”

Nevertheless, the former Partizan and Fiorentina man vowed to compete for all trophies next season.

“We are very happy with the Coppa Italia. But next season, we must aim to win everything. Juventus’ DNA requires it.”

Vlahovic scored 18 goals between the Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season. He is by far Juve’s top goalscorer of the campaign.
