Multiple reports in Italy claim Juventus negotiations for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo are progressing, with the Bianconeri hoping to finalise a loan deal with an option to buy.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus are preparing for a new round of talks with Barcelona directors as the Bianconeri are eager to ‘speed up’ negotiations and sign the first defensive reinforcement for Thiago Motta.

With Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal injured and Danilo out of Motta’s project, the Bianconeri must sign at least two new defenders this month.
Tuttosport confirms Juventus’ negotiations with Barcelona, adding that Juventus are working on a loan deal with an option to buy. Barcelona still prefer a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to purchase.
Araujo’s entourage has not denied that the Uruguay international could join the Bianconeri this month.
Juventus are also working with Jorge Mendes for Benfica’s Antonio Silva, but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese side are unwilling to sell the player this month.
