Juventus are set to place their continued faith in Michele Di Gregorio as their first-choice goalkeeper following an impressive opening campaign and standout performances on the international stage, according to TuttoJuve and an interview given by his agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni, to Bianconera News.

Di Gregorio, who joined Juventus last season on a five-year contract, quickly settled into the number one role. His contribution was instrumental in helping the club secure Champions League qualification in a year marked by significant internal changes. Belloni reflected on Di Gregorio's rapid adaptation, noting that the primary value in his first season was understanding the demands of representing Juventus, both on and off the pitch, and acclimating to the constant scrutiny that comes with the job.

Interest in Di Gregorio from abroad has been dismissed outright by both club and player. Belloni made clear there was never any consideration of listening to proposals, emphasizing the player’s commitment: “He has signed for five years and has a great desire to stay at Juve. The rumors coming from abroad have never been taken into account—Michele wants to become a key figure at Juventus and assert himself as a reference point in the dressing room.”

Di Gregorio’s displays at the World Club Cup drew particular praise. Despite Juventus’ early exit, he was rated as one of the competition’s top goalkeepers, matching up well even against heavyweights like Manchester City and Real Madrid. His statistics and recognition further reinforced Juventus’s decision to invest in him early, despite having to cover much of Wojciech Szczęsny’s remaining contract. A partial offset came when Barcelona agreed to take on a portion of Szczęsny’s severance package, as noted by TuttoJuve.

Looking ahead, the club's strategy is clearly built around stability in the goalkeeping department. Di Gregorio is not seeking a move and is focused on growing into a more influential presence in the squad. Belloni highlighted that new manager Tudor has provided Di Gregorio with autonomy in his decision-making during possessions, trusting his judgement to either play long or build from the back—always mindful not to take unnecessary risks.

With Mattia Perin attracting interest from other Serie A clubs and potentially moving on, Juventus are expected to maintain Di Gregorio as their starting goalkeeper while searching for a reliable new understudy. The club’s evaluation of Di Gregorio’s qualities extends beyond shot-stopping—they value his mentality, adaptability, and potential to become an internal leader.
