The injury bug is getting worse at Inter and Juventus, but at least their key players who are banged up won’t be out for long. The Bianconeri announced that Nicolò Savona has been diagnosed with a biceps femoris elongation in his right thigh. He could miss a couple of weeks, Goal reports.
Instead, Andrea Cambiaso won’t need exams after leaving early versus Cagliari. He could be available for the midweek Coppa Italia fixture against Empoli already. Instead, Douglas Luiz will undergo some tests on Tuesday. He’s feared to have sustained a flexor strain, which would knock him out until the next international break. Pierre Kalulu and Renato Veiga won’t return in the upcoming Serie A round.
Like Juventus for Cambiaso, Inter are confident Thuram will be back soon, particularly for the clash with Napoli. He will likely remain sidelined versus Lazio on Tuesday but partially trained with the group on the eve of the cup game.
The Nerazzurri will be without three more players. Joaquin Correa has avoided significant knee problems but will spend some time on the mend. Carlos Augusto and Nicola Zalewski are nursing calf injuries. The latter is likely to sit out at least a couple of weeks.
Milan likely won’t have Kyle Walker again for the midweek make-up tilt versus Bologna. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is touch and go. Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be sidelined for at least a pair of contests due to an ankle sprain. Patric was on the bench against Venezia after a couple of months but might have sustained a new foot injury. Matias Vecino is about to return from consecutive muscular problems.
