Juventus identify Atalanta striker Retegui as Osimhen alternative | OneFootball

Juventus have shortlisted Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui as one of the potential targets for the summer (h/t La Gazzetta dello Sport).

The Bianconeri plan to invest in a high-profile striker, with Dusan Vlahovic’s future up in the air.

The Serbian’s contract expires in June 2026, and there hasn’t been any progress in the renewal talks.

Juve have earmarked Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is currently enjoying a prolific loan stint at Galatasaray, as the top target to spearhead their attack next season.

However, the Nigerian international’s high transfer fee coupled with the fierce competition from elsewhere is prompting Juve to look for other options.

The Old Lady have identified Retegui as a potential alternative if they fail to sign Osimhen.

The Italian international has been phenomenal for La Dea this season, topping the Serie A scoring charts with 23 goals.

The 26-year-old has also fortified his position as one of the best centre-forwards in Europe, playing a key role in Atalanta’s form this term.

Retegui’s demand has also increased, with an array of European heavyweights keeping tabs on his progress.

La Dea could consider selling their star forward if a lucrative offer arrives. They value him at around €50- 60 million.

Retegui is known for his deadly instincts inside the box, smart touches and movements to disrupt defenders.

Juve are also looking at the possibility of signing Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca, who has been impressive in Serie A this season.

The Bianconeri are also looking to revamp their squad this summer. Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo and Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali are on their transfer wishlist.
