According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus could consider terminating Paul Pogba’s (31) contract at the club despite the player being cleared to play again. The France international midfielder has had a 4-year doping ban from football reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after 18 months.

The former Manchester United midfielder tested positive for a banned substance after a match in which he was an unused substitute against Udinese. Following the decision of the CAS to reduce the midfielder’s ban, he would be able to return to Juventus training in January. In addition to a return to training in the new year, the 31-year-old could have been targeting a March return to football. However, it appears that the Serie A club could have other plans regarding Pogba’s future in Turin.

The manager of the Bianconeri, Thiago Motta, was rather blasé about a potential reintegration into his squad after the news regarding his reduced ban. Speaking in a press conference, the Italian head coach said, “The club will evaluate the situation and will take a decision if necessary… As far as I’m concerned, Paul Pogba was a great player, he hasn’t played for a long time. I am focused on Sunday’s game, everything else does not matter much to me.”
