Juventus head coach Igor Tudor will be a happy man tonight after his Bianconeri side emerged with three points after a tricky and closely fought 1-0 win at Genoa.

The Bianconeri were not particularly impressive but they got the job done and it is an important victory to keep the side’s momentum up after a positive start to the season.

Speaking to the microphones of the press after the game, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, Tudor said “I like this team. I told the guys that I have a really good feeling about a team that is switched on like this. Even before the match, those who came in had great energy. When you come here to Genoa you have to earn everything and concede nothing. Two clean sheets, that’s good.”

Tudor: ‘I’m happy Vlahovic is staying; I’m focused on coaching’

Dusan Vlahovic scored the winner for Tudor’s side tonight; the Serbian coming on as a substitute in the second-half to score the only goal. The former Fiorentina striker had been linked heavily away from Turin this summer, with Milan being strongly linked as a potential reunion between the forward and Massimiliano Allegri, who was in charge when Vlahovic signed for Juventus.

Speaking about the striker, Tudor said “I’ll repeat what I have already said. In this month and a half of preparation he has always been focused, he has worked as an example. Comolli said he is staying and I’m happy. He is a strong player and hopefully he keeps up this scoring rate, which is no small thing.”

Tudor was asked if he expects anything from the transfer market, to which he replied “I focus on coaching. I expect nothing, I’m happy.”

Tudor’s Juventus taking it match-by-match

With the Bianconeri’s strong start to the 2025-26 season, Tudor was asked if his side are in the race for the Scudetto. He replied, “Only two games have been played. I want to go match by match and do our best in the next one. Stay focused and train well, then we’ll see where this mindset and way of working takes us.”

On his substitutions, the coach said “If you make changes it is because you think you have other options. A substitution isn’t always made just because someone isn’t doing well.”

Finally, Tudor argued Pierre Kalulu is useful his versatility, able to play several roles across the defence and said “A team should always reflect its coach”, when asked about whether this Juventus is more pragmatic and beautiful.
