After their Copa del Rey defeat to Barcelona, Real Madrid will turn their full focus on defending the La Liga crown in the final five games of the season, starting with the visit of Celta Vigo this Sunday.

Trailing Barcelona by four points, Real Madrid cannot afford any slip-ups and must make sure that they win all their matches so that they are in a position to pounce if Barça drop points.

Dani Ceballos could miss Celta Vigo clash

However, leading up to Sunday’s game, another player has been added to Real Madrid’s injury list.

Indeed, according to Daniel Knecht Escobar, Dani Ceballos is a doubt for Sunday’s La Liga match against Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu due to an ankle sprain.

The Spanish midfielder experienced discomfort during the Copa del Rey final and was substituted in the 55th minute by manager Carlo Ancelotti.

After undergoing medical examinations on Tuesday, he was diagnosed with a mild sprain in his left ankle.

The precise recovery timeline for Ceballos has not been established. Although it is considered a mild sprain, his return will depend on how well he responds during upcoming training sessions.

As the week progresses, Ancelotti and his staff, along with the medical department will assess whether the former Real Betis midfielder is fit enough to participate in one of the five critical matches remaining in Real Madrid’s campaign.

This is a significant setback for Real Madrid, who are already dealing with the confirmed absence of Antonio Rudiger.

The German defender has undergone surgery for a partial tear in the external meniscus of his left leg and will be sidelined for almost two months.
