Jurgen Klopp's plan for managerial return revealed after Real Madrid snub | OneFootball

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp isn't expected to take over another club or national team until the summer of 2026 at the earliest, according to a new report.

The revered German tactician stepped away from the Anfield dugout at the end of last season, citing fatigue after 23 years of management with scarcely more than a matter of weeks away from the grind. Klopp surprisingly took over as Red Bull's global head of soccer at the start of the year, operating in more of a supervisory role.

Yet, Klopp has recently been tipped to make a return to the touchline. Real Madrid were widely reported to be interested in the 57-year-old as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who has come under intense scrutiny following Real Madrid's Champions League quarter-final exit.

Klopp's agent bluntly quashed the speculation, insisting that his client "is very happy with his new role". A move to Madrid may be off the cards, but there will be plenty of jobs in the future which may very well inspire links to a manager of Klopp's calibre.

The Telegraph, however, claim that Klopp's career plan "currently goes no further than Red Bull". If there is to be a return to management - and at this point it is billed as a possibility rather than a certainty - the German won't be available until the summer of 2026.

That timeline, i.e. after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, hints at a move into international management - a career change which has been billed as Klopp's "most likely option". His home nation of Germany have long been touted as a future destination for Klopp, while the US and England are also named as potential employers.
