Real Betis have announced the signing of Junior Firpo, who rejoins the club on a three-year contract following his departure from Leeds United this summer.
The 28-year-old full-back is no stranger to Betis, having come through their academy and made over 40 first-team appearances before earning a move to Barcelona back in 2019.
Firpo arrived at Elland Road in 2021 for around €15 million, signing a four-year deal that has now run its course. Despite efforts from Leeds to extend his stay - especially after securing a return to the Premier League - the Spanish defender has opted for a homecoming instead.
During his time in Yorkshire, Firpo experienced the highs and lows. He played a key role in helping Leeds stay up in his debut season, suffered relegation the next, and was part of the side that bounced straight back as Championship winners last term.
The 28-year-old leaves having made 119 appearances in total for the club, contributing four goals and 10 assists in the 2024–25 campaign alone.
