An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has on Friday been forthcoming online.
Midfielder Bellingham is for his part of course sidelined at present, owing to a blow suffered during a training session last month.
As per a statement across Real Madrid’s official website and social media platforms:
‘Following tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by Real Madrid’s medical team, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.’
Bellingham’s problem has since been followed by a whole host of further personnel blows in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, with the likes of Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Éder Militão now sidelined, too.
Safe to say, then, that it will come as music to the ears of the Blancos faithful to hear that Bellingham is closing on an imminent return to the pitch.
As per club insider Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, the plan as things stand is for the England international to be called up for Real’s first outing post-international break.
It remains to be seen whether or not Bellingham is deemed fit to start, but the expectation is that he will at the least be part of the Spanish champions’ matchday squad to face Real Sociedad on September 14th.
