Luka Jovic admitted that he has no answer as to why AC Milan continue to start games so badly, and added that he hopes the coach noticed his impact.

Having been left out of the starting line-up again despite his goal against Napoli last weekend, Jovic perhaps was not expecting to come on during the first half. After a dreadful start resulted in a two-goal deficit, the Serbian was brought on for Yunus Musah, who was having another rough night.

In the 64th minute, he got the Rossoneri level with a goal against his old club. A rather hopeful ball forward from Fikayo Tomori seemed to be more aimed towards Santiago Gimenez who was dropping deep, yet a gap opened up for Jovic to run through and finish past De Gea.

It would finish 2-2 in the end and Jovic spoke to Sky after the full-time whistle to assess what was a real rollercoaster of a game at San Siro, one that was as senseless as it was entertaining at times. MilanNews relayed his comments.

Why always slow starts?

“I don’t know what to say, we have to find an answer because we have seven games to play. We have to change, especially in the first half. Today in ten minutes we conceded two goals but in the end we showed character. I think we deserved to win even if they played well. Point earned for them.”

Are you happy with the goal and getting some minutes on the pitch?

“As I said, I try to do what I can in the minutes I’m given. Today I scored. I had a good time in Florence but now I play for Milan and I want to play my best in every game, do what I can. I hope the coach notices that.”
