Chelsea could end up having to pay Palmeiras another €21.5m for Brazilian talent Estevao Willian according to reports.
The Blues agreed a deal worth up to a reported £51.4m for the 17-year-old last summer, and he’s set to join after the Club World Cup this summer.
Chelsea are said to view Estevao as a generational talent, and the teenager has already broken records set by Neymar in the Brazilian league.
Estevao, who turns 18 later this month, is already a full Brazil international, and his agent revealed one of the key reasons he chose Chelsea is the chance to play as a number ten.
Despite his age the Brazilian has already made 61 appearances for the first team, scoring 20 goals and providing ten assists.
The Blues believe they have signed one of the best young talents in world football, but it turns out they could have to pay Palmeiras another €21.5m according to journalist Jorge Nicola.
Estevao will join Chelsea after the Club World Cup this summer.
“A deal that was closed at the time for €40m fixed plus €21.5m in bonuses,” he told his YouTube channel.
“These bonuses are linked to matches played by Palmeiras and also by Chelsea.
“Estevao will guarantee Palmeiras these €21.5m in bonuses if he reaches seventy matches played for at least forty-five minutes.”
Given there’s likely to be a shake up in the wide areas this summer it might not actually take Estevao that long to make it to 70 appearances for the Blues.
The teenager could replace Noni Madueke on the right flank, with the England international linked with moves to both Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Estevao could also provide an alternative to Cole Palmer in the central role, but it’s important Chelsea don’t put him in a position where he’s expected to contribute from day one.
The Blues need to provide Estevao with the right environment to develop and thrive in, and if they do that then they could genuinely have a future superstar on their hands.
