Journalist Roger Hannah has claimed to have noted a change in the demeanour of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. The Irishman has been fronting up on behalf of the club over the Scottish Champions’ transfer business, providing a frank assessment on Friday afternoon.

Speaking to Clyde 1 Superscoreboard on Monday, Hannah told Gordon Duncan and the listeners that he noticed a change in the manager, which could mean Celtic have transfers in the works.

“It was quite noticeable the change in tone from Brendan Rodgers on Friday lunchtime to Brendan Rodgers after the game yesterday.

“I wonder if something has happened between Friday lunchtime and last night (Sunday), and I don’t just mean a 1-0 win over St Mirren. I wonder if Brendan Rodgers knows that things are moving.

“I think that Champions League draw today has been kind to both Celtic and Rangers. I would expect Celtic now to have guaranteed a place in that league phase.”

Hopefully the Sun Sport writer is on the money with his estimation of Rodgers and Celtic’s transfer business. Although, there have not been a lot of rumours in recent weeks to suggest that the club are closing in on new signings.

Celtic are expected to be active in the transfer window in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen their front line. There are nine days until the club need to submit their squad to the UEFA and you would hope that a couple of attackers will be added.

There has been a suggestion that Daizen Maeda could move back to a central position, which would certainly make sense given his exploits there last season. That would, however, mean that the club require to bring in at least two wingers. There have been suggestions that Shin Yamada could play on the right flank but the Japanese attacker was not brought on against St Mirren, despite having had half a season in the J-League.
