Chelsea transfer target Jamie Gittens wants to leave German giants Borussia Dortmund this summer according to reports.

The Blues are set for a busy summer and it’s believed they could look to sell as many seven or eight players in order to fund moves in the market.

Chelsea face arguably their most important window under the new ownership with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker.

There’s set to be plenty of movement in the wides areas in the window, with Chelsea still to decide whether they want to keep Jadon Sancho, whilst it’s unclear if or when Mykhailo Mudryk will play for the club again after a positive doping test.

Noni Madueke has surprisingly been linked with a move away, whilst Chelsea have Estevao Willian arriving in the summer, with Geovany Quenda arriving in 2026.

The Blues have recently been linked with Nico Williams, whilst Gittens is a player they like and Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger has provided an update on his future.

He took to X.com and said:

“Jamie Gittens (20) would like to leave #BVB in the summer and take the next step. Dortmund is aware of the transfer request and internally expects a departure.

“However, the original target fee has long since been abandoned due to the poor second half of the season. The amount also depends on which European competition BVB ends up in (or not at all?!). Gittens still has a market in England. A return to the PL appeals to him.”

Dortmund were originally said to want around €100m for Gittens, who has 12 goals and four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea were linked with Gittens in January, but they are likely to face competition from some of Europe’s top clubs and it’s essential they are able to offer Champions League football.

The Blues currently have Carney Chukwuemeka on loan at Dortmund, whilst it’s rumoured the Bundesliga outfit are keen on Sancho to replace Gittens with a swap deal a possibility.
