Bayern Munich have confirmed Joshua Kimmich has extended his stay with the club.

Since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2015, the Germany international has won 14 major honours at the Allianz Arena including eight Bundesliga titles.

Kimmich has now extended his stay with the Rekordmeister until June 2029, which will see him close in on 14 years as an automatic starter with the club.

"I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals," explained the midfielder.

"That is what my decision was based on. For me at the moment, there is no better package of team-mates, coaching staff and club environment in order to achieve maximum success.

"I feel at home here and I am not finished yet.”

Vincent Kompany's side are currently eight points clear in the Bundesliga title race and will take on Inter in the Champions League's quarter finals.
