As multiple outlets report, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is expected to extend his expiring contract at the club.
Sky Germany reports that Kimmich will sign his extension until at least 2028 and will receive a top contract at the club. The two parties are said to be in the final stages of negotiations and Bayern are waiting for the final green light from the midfielder. Despite interest from other clubs such as Real Madrid, no other club made any sort of proposal or offer for the 30-year-old, reports TZ München.
When it comes to negotiating, Kimmich has been negotiating the deal without representation, but he has been relying on the advice of former Bayern technical director Marco Neppe. They have a strong relationship due to Neppe’s time in Munich.
This will continue Bayern’s trend of completing several extensions for key players over the past few weeks. First it was Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala, now Kimmich and Dayot Upamecano are also expected to extend their contracts in the coming weeks, all of whom will be key figures under Vincent Kompany going forward.
