La Liga champions Barcelona have late this week been afforded some timely positive news on the transfer front.
This comes amid confirmation that summer target Marcus Rashford will not be making the move to Turkey with Fenerbahçe.
For those who may have missed it, recent days saw reports across Europe point towards Fenerbahçe as a potential surprise summer landing spot for Rashford.
On the way out at Manchester United, the 27-year-old was said to have been earmarked as the ideal addition to his frontline by former Red Devils boss José Mourinho, now on the bench at Fener.
After already missing out on Nico Williams, and with a deal for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz looking increasingly difficult to come by, such news marked a major source of concern for those in the boardroom at the aforementioned Barcelona.
As alluded to above, however, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Friday is anything to go by, the Blaugrana need not fret.
As per a report from Marca:
‘José Mourinho has ruled out signing the British striker. In recent days, various media outlets have reported that the Portuguese coach wanted the striker to strengthen Fenerbahce. However, despite assessing the situation, the coach has ruled out his incorporation.’
