PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko (22) has emerged as AS Monaco’s priority target in the event of a departure for Maghnes Akliouche (23), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The France youth international has been linked with clubs across Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City, and Arsenal. However, for now, Akliouche remains a Monaco player. Speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro addressed the player’s future.
We can’t control what happens outside. It is normal that Maghnes Akliouche is on the lists of the top clubs. We have our conditions, though. When this is the game, we are here to protect ourselves. He can stay or they can go – that is relevant to all players,” said Scuro.
Should Akliouche leave, Bakayoko, whose contract at PSV expires next summer, is the priority target. The Belgian is also a target for Borussia Dortmund and is valued at €30m by his club.
Sacha Tavolieri adds that Monaco have even begun talks with the winger’s entourage. Bakayoko is open to a move to the Principality club, as well as to Borussia Dortmund.
