Joe Hart has secured a new role in football, months after retiring from playing. The 37-year-old signed off in the best possible way as he left professional football with the league title and Scottish Cup being wrapped up in the final few games.

Although, it was clear that Hart wouldn’t be out the game long and right enough, he was on screens for the Euros for the BBC. Now, the broadcaster have swooped and decided to get the former Man City No.1 back on the TV and in the lineup for Match of the Day.

“I’m very excited, very proud, and looking forward to growing into an incredible role on something that I grew up watching,” Hart said.

“I want to try and give back as much as I can from the career I’ve had and keep learning.

“I’m thrilled to be in an around an incredible set up, learning first and foremost in a new part of my life.”

After Ian Wright retired, the MOTD team have been looking to fill the gap and have gone with the brilliant Hart. Now, he’ll sit alongside Alan Shearer and Gary Linekar.

It was a match made in heaven for the club and the player with the quality goalkeeper providing stability through the last three years, winning seven out of a possible nine domestic trophies.

Celtic replaced Hart with Kasper Schmeichel, with the Dane likely seeing how much his mate enjoyed his time in Scotland. The Premier League winning stopper will look to emulate Hart’s success during his time at the club.
