Jesus Vallejo has officially started a fresh chapter in his football career. After spending eight seasons with Real Madrid, the defender has joined Albacete, hoping to rediscover his form.

Vallejo was unveiled as an Albacete player at the Carlos Belmonte Stadium, where he was warmly welcomed by fans who made the day special for him.

Although Vallejo had offers from clubs outside Spain, he chose Albacete because it felt right.

“In July, we received this offer. We thought about it calmly, and I made my decision because the moment I arrived, I felt football again,” he explained during his presentation.

For Vallejo, this move was never about money. His priority was to find happiness on the pitch once more.

“Now I feel great physically, and I just want to enjoy playing football and being part of a team again,” he added, making it clear that he is eager to embrace his new challenge.

Vallejo also took a moment to reflect on his time at Real Madrid, speaking with gratitude and respect. “Of course, I’ll remember the titles, but for me, it’s the daily work at Valdebebas, the training sessions, and my teammates that stand out,” he said.

He mentioned Dani Carvajal as someone who was always there for him during tough moments. “Carvajal is a natural leader, and I’ve leaned on him a lot,” Vallejo revealed.

When asked about the most talented player he has played with, Vallejo didn’t hesitate to name Rodrygo Goes.

“In tight spaces, he’s the best by far. I hope he stays at Real Madrid for a long time,” he said with a smile.

Vallejo confirmed that Real Zaragoza, his former club, did not approach him this summer. “I focused on the options I had, and Albacete convinced me the most,” he explained.

While he didn’t close the door on a future return to Zaragoza, his focus for now is fully on succeeding with Albacete.
