Newcastle United moved to third position in the Premier League after a 5-0 win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
The Magpies are currently flying this season and it appears like their win in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool have given them an extra boost.
The Toon Army and fighting to qualify for the Champions League next season and currently they are in better form than teams like Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Chelsea who are also a part of the race to qualify for the Champions League.
The Magpies have had several impressive performers this season but one of the players who has proved his critics wrong is Jacob Murphy.
While Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes are players who are expected to perform well for the club week in week out, Murphy has come under severe criticism but he has proved that despite not being a big name player, he can still make a huge impact.
Jamie Redknapp, while speaking on Sky Sports, claimed that he did not expect Murphy to be this consistent.
Redknapp was asked if the coaching had played a role in Murphy’s resurgence, he said, as reported by Geordie Boot Boys:
“Coaching, confidence, feeling loved. I think that’s what we need sometimes.
“When your boss turns around and says you’re my guy, you can really do it, you can make things happen.
“His goal involvements when you look at that, look at those numbers with the players that he’s associated with there – Salah, Isak, Jacob Murphy – if you’d have said that a few years ago, you’d have gone: ‘you are talking complete nonsense, there’s no way that’s possible.’
“But it just shows you what you can do if you can dedicate yourself, work hard, you’re playing with good players every single game.
“It’s testament to Eddie, to Jason Tindall and all the staff there because they’ve done an incredible job with him, because I personally didn’t see it.

Murphy’s resurgence under manager Eddie Howe has been remarkable.
With 8 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League this season, he ranks among the top contributors in the league.
He is an underrated player who despite not being a big name has shown that he can still contribute and make the difference for Newcastle.
Even if the Magpies add more quality to their squad in the summer and make new signings, they should keep Murphy in the squad because of his hard work, dedication and his versatility.
