Having enjoyed watching Newcastle United players starring for England, I couldn’t wait for the Premier League action to kick-off once again.
Newcastle fans of course having the longest wait, along with Hammers fans.
As Monday night sees Newcastle take on West Ham.
Nine other Premier League matches to be played before then.
Premier League fixtures/results this weekend:
Saturday 23 November
Leicester 1 Chelsea 2
Bournemouth 1 Brighton 2
Arsenal 3 Forest 0
Aston Villa 2 Crystal Palace 2
Everton 0 Brentford 0
Fulham 1 Wolves 4
Man City v Tottenham (5.30pm)
Sunday 24 November
Southampton v Liverpool (2pm)
Ipswich v Man U (4.30pm)
Monday 25 November
Newcastle v West Ham (8pm)
Like many other idle Newcastle United fans with nothing better to do, I lay down on the sofa and watched on as the Saturday action unfolded.
A recurring theme started to trigger something in my mind…
Jarrad Branthwaite – Started for Everton v Brentford on Saturday
Bukayo Saka – Started for Arsenal v Forest on Saturday
Declan Rice – Named on bench for Arsenal v Forest on Saturday
Levi Colwill – Started for Chelsea v Leicester
Cole Palmer – Started for Chelsea v Leicester
Then I checked back on exactly which ‘injured’ England players had been pulled out of the November squad by their clubs.
Branthwaite – Tick
Saka – Tick
Rice – Tick
Colwill – Tick
Palmer – Tick
How impressive.
Clearly these five England players/deserters have got better doctors than me.
Man City v Tottenham is due to kick-off shortly, so I decided to have a quick look at their matchday squads:
Jack Grealish – Named on bench for Man City v Tottenham on Saturday
Phil Foden – Starts for Man City v Tottenham on Saturday
Grealish – Tick
Foden – Tick
It’s a miracle!
