Italy Trio Remain Committed To Inter Milan – Slammed Door On Several Premier League Offers | OneFootball

Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, and Nicolo Barella have all given firm no’s to Premier League offers in recent years.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note the trio’s firm commitment to the Nerazzurri cause.

In recent seasons, Inter have build around a core of young Italian players.

And in that respect, three names really stand out.

Defender Bastoni, wingback Dimarco, and midfielder Barella have all been key players for the Nerazzurri.

All three started throughout the knockout rounds of the Champions League as Inter reached the final in 2023. And all three had a massive impact on last season’s Serie A title win.

Bastoni, Dimarco, and Barella are all now in their respective primes. They have grown into world-class players over the last few seasons at Inter.

Inter Trio Bastoni, Dimarco & Barella All Slam The Door On Premier League

The form that Bastoni, Dimarco, and Barella have shown has, unsurprisingly, attracted transfer interest.

And as the Gazzetta note, the most intense courting of the trio has come from the Premier League.

In the case of Bastoni, Manchester City have made the Italian international a long-term target.

However, the newspaper notes, it is Manchester United who made a really concerted effort to tempt Bastoni.

But the 25-year-old never even gave the Red Devils’ offer the time of day. He always had a firm conviction that Inter are the right place for him.

Meanwhile, there has been absolutely no shortage of transfer interest in Barella from England.

In 2023, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United showed interest in bringing Barella to the Premier League. Manchester City and Liverpool are also long-term admirers.

However, Barella put all these kinds of rumours to rest over the summer.

The 27-year-old signed a new long-term contract committing his future to Inter.

Lastly, Dimarco was reportedly a target for Arsenal in the summer of 2022.

At that point, Dimarco had yet to really explode in form. He was still more of a backup at Inter than a key part of the starting eleven.

The Gunners perhaps had an intuition of the kind of player Dimarco would develop into.

Nevertheless, the North London club’s efforts to sign Dimarco failed.

The Italian international, an Inter youth academy graduate, made it clear that his only priority was to remain at the Nerazzurri.
