Today, Inter’s squad returns to training.

The Nerazzurri have had the past couple of days off following the Serie A title celebrations over the weekend.

However, the players are now working to prepare for this Saturday’s Serie A match away to Sassuolo.

There are a couple of players absent, however.

One of them being wingback Dimarco.

Inter Wingback Federico Dimarco Not Training With Squad Due To Injury

Dimarco is currently recovering from a slight calf strain.

The 26-year-old picked up the problem in training prior to last weekend’s Serie A match against Torino.

Dimarco was on the bench for that match. But he did not play.

Rather, Dimarco was part of the Nerazzurri squad so that he would be able to receive the guard of honour from the Torino players for winning the Serie A title.

The Nerazzurri had clinched the title in the derby against AC Milan the prior week.

But Dimarco was unable to play against the Granata due to the injury that he had picked up.

And according to TMW, the Italian international is still not back in full training.

In today’s session, the 26-year-old was strictly working on his own, prioritizing recovery from his injury.

It remains to be seen whether Dimarco returns to full training in time for the match against Sassuolo on Saturday.

Naturally, no risks will be taken with the Italian’s fitness.

Inter have already wrapped up the Serie A title. Therefore, it is not like there is any pressing need to rush a player back to fitness.

Similarly, defender Francesco Acerbi is out with a groin problem. That could sideline the 36-year-old for the rest of the season, so as to not compromise his fitness for the Euros.
