Midfielder Davide Frattesi feels that his playing time at Inter Milan “is not a problem and never will be.”

The 25-year-old brushed off these suggestions in a press conference after yesterday’s Serie A clash with Empoli, as reported by FCInterNews.

Frattesi was Inter’s match-winner yesterday. The former Sassuolo midfielder scored a brace as the Nerazzurri left Tuscany with three points in a 3-0 Serie A victory.

Goals are certainly a specialty for Frattesi.

This season alone the Italian international has found the back of the net three times in Serie A.

Frattesi has scored prolifically for his position ever since he first started playing in the Italian top flight with Sassuolo.

And Frattesi is also prolific for Italy. So much so, in fact, that he is the Azzurri’s top scorer since Luciano Spalletti took over as coach.

And, not surprisingly, Frattesi is also a regular in the starting eleven for the national team under Spalletti.

But for Inter, the opportunities to start have been harder to come by. Frattesi has however gotten his chances so far this season, with injuries to other midfielders playing a factor undoubtedly.

Asked if he is aware of the debate about his playing time for Inter, Frattesi said that “I don’t go looking for it.”

“But I follow some pages on Instagram,” the 25-year-old admitted. “And sometimes I read articles.”

“But there’s no problem.”

“I’m a guy who’s intelligent enough to understand that there are a lot of players in the squad,” Frattesi emphasized.

“And the coach is right to make his decisions.”

“There isn’t a problem and there never will be,” Frattesi was clear. “Unless someone tells me there’s a problem.”

Meanwhile, Frattesi opened up about scoring against Empoli, a club he had a loan spell at.

“I left Empoli with many friends,” the 25-year-old admitted. “That’s why I didn’t celebrate, out of respect for the part that this place played in my journey.”

Frattesi called Empoli “A team who can cause problems for anyone who comes to play here.”
