Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma is receiving vicious criticism in France after Paris Saint-Germain’s improbable Champions League defeat to Alisson Becker’s Liverpool.
The match was almost entirely dominated by PSG at Parc des Princes, to the degree that they had 28 total attempts on goal to just two by the Reds, 84 attacks to 26 and Alisson made nine saves.
Many of those were simply remarkable, the former Roma goalkeeper proving himself one of the best in the game even at the age of 32.
On the other hand, Donnarumma got a glove to the Harvey Elliott angled drive and failed to keep it out.

Bertrand Latour did not hold back on Canal+ when blaming the Italian for the defeat.
“A Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper cannot concede a goal like that,” he declared.
The response on social media from supporters was also damning, noting that “the difference tonight was one team had Alisson in goal and the other had Donnarumma.”
It was noted that while Alisson made nine saves, Donnarumma “failed the only one he had to make.”
ANOTHER SAVE 🥵 A simply superhuman display from Alisson tonight, as he saves AGAIN from Doué’s curling effort this time 🧤 This game is still somehow goalless… — Football on TNT Sports (@footballontnt) March 5, 2025
It has been a rough season for the former Milan star, who is sporting a huge scar on his cheek following a violent collision with Monaco wide man Wilfried Singo’s studs in December 2024.
