Inter could feel that they have a perfect run of fixtures in which to bed striker Romelu Lukaku back into the team now that he is finally fully fit to fight for his place in the starting eleven.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the Nerazzurri’s next five Serie A matches could be a perfect sequence in which the Belgian can make an impact, starting with Sampdoria this evening.

Lukaku has already been fit enough to play in Inter’s last couple matches, having started in a tough Coppa Italia quarterfinal against Atalanta before coming off the bench to help see out a win in the Milan derby.

The 29-year-old showed real flashes of his quality in those appearances, but he is certainly targeting something more considering he failed to score or assist a goal in either.

The fact that, in the league, Inter’s next few matches look to be very “winnable” fixture list could see Lukaku licking his lips, however.

This evening’s away clash to Sampdoria is a match which the Belgian and his teammates have had a week to prepare for, and on paper will be an easier match against a much leakier defense than either Atalanta or Milan.

Next weekend, it will be Udinese that Lukaku and his teammates come up against at the San Siro.

The following three Serie A matches will come against the likes of Bologna, Lecce, and Spezia.

Of course, Inter will not be taking a win for granted in any of these matches, particularly considering that their dropped points last month came in shock results against Monza and Empoli compared to their wins which came against Napoli, Atalanta, and Milan.

However, the fact remains that, at least on paper, this is a fairly ideal sequence in which Lukaku can try to play his way into form and start to finally increase his goal tally.

In the meantime, Inter have an appointment with Porto in the Champions League as well, a two-legged tie in which the Belgian will be desperate to make an impact and prove himself on the biggest stage.
