Fabrizio Biasin offered his verdict on Daniele Chiffi’s decision not to sanction Strahinja Pavlovic for a reckless tackle on Marcus Thuram.
Speaking on the IoTifoInter YouTube channel via FCInter1908, the Italian journalist addressed the Milan derby controversy.
AC Milan held the Nerazzurri to a nerve-shredding 1-1 draw at the San Siro last Sunday.
Tijjani Reijnders fired the Rossoneri 1-0 up on the stroke of halftime.
However, Stefan de Vrij notched a late equalizer to hand Inter a well-deserved point.
In all fairness, the reigning Serie A champions could’ve easily grabbed all three.
Indeed, Simone Inzaghi couldn’t believe his eyes as Inter hit the woodwork three times after the break.
On top of that, Chiffi refused to award a penalty to the Nerazzurri.
Pavlovic’s mistimed challenge on Marcus Thuram somehow slipped the referee’s eye.
Moreover, Daniele Doveri didn’t react from the VAR booth, leaving Biasin flabbergasted.
“I don’t believe in conspiracies,” Biasin admitted. “I simply think that mistakes happen. And in some cases, they need to be highlighted because they impact matches.
“Some referees were downgraded just because Inter won 4-0, and people think, ‘Who cares?’

“But that’s not how it should be.
“Just as the media creates confusion when a decision benefits Inter.
“It’s only fair to point out when nonsensical decisions penalize the team.
“What baffles me the most is that the day after what was a clear penalty for everyone, reports emerge that the refereeing body is letting it be known that the decision was correct.
“No, that’s a joke – on every planet in the solar system, that’s a penalty.
“When I read that they are ‘letting it be,’ it means they don’t even have the courage to say it outright.
“It makes me think they don’t fully believe it themselves and don’t know how to get out of it. The mistake is obvious.”
