Malo Gusto has played plenty for Chelsea at the Club World Cup so far, and will be hoping to start again on Sunday when we face PSG in the final.
“The most important thing is to help the team to show our desire to win, to keep pushing together,” the full back said in quotes for the club’s official website.
“That’s what we did on Tuesday night and I think that’s why we won. So we are happy to get to this final and we will try to win it.”
“It doesn’t matter who we are going to play in the final. We just have to stay focused on ourselves before the final, stick to our plan and give everything.
“The most important thing was to do the job on Tuesday, and now we are focused on trying to win the final and lift the trophy.”
Gusto also had some encouraging words for his new teammate Joao Pedro, who scored twice on his debut in the semi final:
“He’s a top talent, everyone knows that. As I’ve said before, we have a lot of good talent in the team.
“Now the most important thing is to create something all together as a group, to continue to grow together and to give everything.”

Gusto’s position has been a source of much debate among Chelsea fans in the last year. He’s played in a number of positions, and has struggled in a lot of games, despite starting his career at Stamford Bridge looking really good.
“It doesn’t matter where I play to be honest. I just try to give my best wherever I play,” the full back said.
While we appreciate his versatility and willingness to do whatever his manager asks, we would argue that it does matter where he plays. He’s struggled so much as an “inverted” full back and looks so much better when he plays in a more traditional overlapping full back role that’s silly to say it doesn’t matter.
