Simone Inzaghi says that Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski will be available for Inter Milan against PSG, and that Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi will be “at 100%.”
The Nerazzurri coach updated on fitness ahead of the Champions League final during the UEFA Open Media press conference, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter Milan take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in just five days’ time.
There have been a few fitness doubts heading into the final.
Benjamin Pavard was still on the sidelines against Como in Inter’s Serie A season-ender. This was with an ankle sprain he suffered at the end of April.
Meanwhile, Piotr Zielinski had pulled out of the squad due to a slight muscle problem.
Meanwhile, during the match against Como, defender Yann Bisseck had to come off the pitch due to a physical problem.
Therefore, there was a worry that the German international had suffered an injury.
Then, Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi didn’t feature in Inter’s last few league matches after their dramatic and exhausting Champions League semifinal second leg win over Barcelona.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi noted that “Pavard and Zielinski will be available” for Saturday’s match.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi also said that Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is “fine” despite his muscle problem in recent weeks.
“He was available against Como. He’ll have a normal week.”
“If it had been necessary, he would’ve come on against Como,” Inzaghi explained. “But the match was going well, and I held off on it.”
“But both Lautaro and Frattesi were already back to 100% before the trip for that match.”
Of moving from the league title race to this final, Inzaghi remarked that “we’re disappointed from the league.”
“We could have done more. Despite everything that happened to us.”
‘But I don’t want to talk about that so as to not disrespect Napoli,” the Inter coach continued. “They deserve our praise and congratulations.”
The Inzaghi noted that “our path to Istanbul [for the Champions League final in 2023] wasn’t easy.”
“We had Bayern and Barcelona in the group stage.”

Next, Inzaghi commented on the difference between Bayern Munich and Barcelona – the two teams Inter knocked out in the last two rounds – and PSG.
“They’re all great teams,” he said. “Each one has its own principles, like Inter.”
“Also like Arsenal and City, both of whom we crossed paths with.”
“We’ll be up against a physical, technical team, a complete side with a deep squad,” Inzaghi said of Saturday’s opponent.
“But at the same time, they’ll also have to look at an Inter team who deserve to be in the final after a great run.”
“We both know that the final ninety minutes are missing,” Inzaghi said of the two teams’ knockout run. “And the key moments will be decisive.”
“We have to try and push them in our direction. With help from all our players.”
Inzaghi then said that his players “have been extraordinary over the last four years.”
“And my club agrees,” he added.
“We have a fantastic group. What I like the most is the sense everyone has of belonging to the club and the shirt.”
“I don’t want to do the math regarding these last four years,” Inzaghi went on. “I look at what the guys have done. The joy when we’ve lost, the tears after we’ve lost.”
“Friday wasn’t an easy day,” Inzaghi admitted of Inter losing out to Napoli in the Serie A title race. “It was hard to swallow.”
“But we have to look forward. Put our chests out, and hold our heads high.”
Inzaghi said “I saw my players today at lunch, and they’re fine.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi also responded to jibes from Napoli coach Antonio Conte.
Conte suggested that the league title rewards consistency, whilst the Champions League is more about individual moments.
“Everyone has their own ideas,” said Inzaghi. “Intellectual honesty is what matters.”
“The league is longer. The Champions League is getting longer and longer too, though.”
“Unexpected things are always around the corner,” Inzaghi noted. “And both competitions can be influenced by a lot of factors – injuries, suspensions, penalties, fixture list.”
“This league season has been great. But the Champions League matches are clearly more difficult.”
Meanwhile, Inzaghi commented that he “has to compliment the club” over the signing of Carlos Augusto.
“He’s a signing who was considered to be good. But not to the extent that he’s ended up being.;”
“He’s had two great seasons. He’s a physical, technical player. He can play either in the back three or as a wingback.”
“I knew he was a good player,” Inzaghi said of Augusto. “But training him every day, I understood that he’s even better.”
He called the Brazilian “a player you can always trust.”
“I think Ancelotti will also be keeping a close eye on him, His growth at Inter suggests that.”
And Inzaghi also said that being in the final last season can “absolutely” help Inter.
“We know that, but also that on the other side, we’re facing players who’ve won the World Cup and played in finals before.”
“We’re playing against a team of the highest quality,” Inzaghi commented.
