The draw against Al-Hilal put our Red Bulls back into the international limelight at the FIFA Club World Cup thanks to their battling performance against Simone Inzaghi's stars. We have scoured the globe for views on the match.
kicker (Germany): "It was an honourable draw that the Austrian runners-up can be proud of. Salzburg are left with mixed feelings though, after the goalless draw against Al-Hilal."
ESPN (USA): "The match had a high tempo despite temperatures of 99 degrees Fahrenheit [around 37 Celsius]. Although Al-Hilal had 19 shots to Salzburg's 13, it was a frustrating afternoon for both sides, with numerous missed chances."
The Washington Post (USA): "Al-Hilal dominated the possession, but the Salzburg defence kept them out and ensured a goalless draw that means Group H in the Club World Cup will go down to two decisive final matches."
Diario AS (Spain): "The Saudis had big problems in front of goal, and Bono made several great saves to ensure they didn't lose. It was the Austrians who had the upper hand in the final phases. They stepped up a gear and put the opponents in several uncomfortable situations that could have led to goals and knocked the Saudi side out."
Gekisaka (Japan): "Sota Kitano made his Salzburg debut at the Club World Cup! Al-Hilal managed to get a goalless draw though thanks to a good save from Bono."
Al Khabar Press (Morocco): "Al-Hilal and Salzburg shared a goalless draw in a good and open match. Despite all their possession and sustained pressure, Al-Hilal lacked effectiveness in front of goal, while the brilliance of the Austrian goalkeeper and his well-organised defence prevented any goals."
