Inter Milan head to Fiorentina this evening as Simeone Inzaghi’s side continue their defence of the Scudetto.
The rearranged fixture will commence from the 16th minute, after the initial fixture was postponed in December due to Edoardo Bove suffering a cardiac arrest. Bove was discharged from hospital on December 13th.
Inter are unbeaten in seven games across all competitions though required a 93rd-minute equaliser from Stefan de Vrij to rescue a point agains AC Milan at the weekend.
Fiorentina’s form has dipped since a strong start to the season. However, back-to-back wins over Lazio and Genoa have lifted La Viola to sixth in the Serie A table. Those results ended a six-game winless run.
Fiorentina have also been boosted by late business in the transfer window. Nicolo Fagioli, Nicolo Zaniolo and Cher Ndour all arrived on deadline day.
Inter will be without Denzel Dumfries for tonight’s clash due to suspension. However, Hakan Calhanoglu made his return in the Milan derby after a six-game absence for the Nerazzurri. The Turkey international ranks sixth in Serie A for shot-creating actions per 90 this season.
Elsewhere, Joaquin Correa is a doubt with a thigh injury and Raffaele Di Gennaro remains sidelined.
