There are severe weather alerts expected during Inter’s FIFA Club World Cup game with Fluminense, after Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca complained this was becoming ‘a joke.’
The Nerazzurri are through to the Round of 16 and will face Brazilians Fluminense in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday at 20.00 UK time, which is 14.00 local time.
That means the area around the stadium is going to be at the centre of weather warnings not just for the extreme heat, but also thunder and lightning that can be created by these high temperatures.

It risks a repeat of the chaos surrounding Chelsea’s Round of 16 tie with Benfica, which was suspended yesterday for over two hours in the same arena.
As it ran to extra time until Chelsea got the 4-1 victory, the final whistle was four hours and 39 minutes after it had started.
This was the sixth game of the FIFA Club World Cup to be suspended because of thunderstorms, and probably won’t be the last.
“I think it’s a joke, to be honest,” said Maresca.
“It’s not football. It’s completely something new. I struggle to understand. I can understand if it’s security reasons but if you suspend seven or eight games then it’s probably not the right place to do the competition.”
