Inter record of 1.3 points average in the big games is worrying | OneFootball

The most concerning aspect of Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus is their awful record in head-to-head clashes, averaging just 1.3 points per game.

The Nerazzurri had the opportunity to leapfrog Napoli and go top of the table for the first time since October 2024, if they had picked up all three points at the Allianz Juventus Stadium.

Instead, they emerged defeated 1-0 by a Francisco Conceicao goal and the gap at the top has opened back up to two points.

Simone Inzaghi confessed to DAZN and in his press conference that Inter had to improve their performances in the big games and the statistics show this is a real problem.

In the 10 matches played against the top eight teams, the reigning Champions of Italy have only managed an average of 1.3 points per game.

They achieved victories over Atalanta, Lazio and Fiorentina, but also lost to Juventus, Milan and the Viola.

There was the 4-4 draw with Juve at San Siro in October, a game they had been leading 4-2 until the late Kenan Yildiz double.

Inter were held to 1-1 draws by Napoli and Milan, as well as the 2-2 at home to Bologna.

The fixture list still has some tough tests ahead, above all the showdown with Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on March 2.

There is also a trip to Atalanta on March 16, then away to Bologna in April, before hosting Roma and Lazio.
