Inter Milan have already made a total of three signings this summer. They’ve brought in Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, and Ange-Yoan Bonny.

The Nerazzurri have spent a total of around €70 million on these three young acquisitions.

But there’s still room for a couple more signings.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter owners Oaktree Capital are ready to make more funds available to sign a defender.

Lowering the average age of the defense has always looked like a priority for Inter. Even months before the start of the transfer window.

And it is something Inter have not yet done. Despite no lack of targets at the back.

The Gazzetta note that Parma’s Giovanni Leoni is Inter’s top target in defense. However, Genoa’s Koni De Winter would be a backup target.

Then, the Gazzetta report, Oaktree will sanction a €30 million move for a young defender.

Meanwhile, the newspaper report, Inter will also make some sales. Players like Aleksandar Stankovic, Sebastiano Esposito, and Tajon Buchanan should attract decent fees.

And according to the Gazzetta, Inter have a clear plan in mind for the nest egg they bring in with those sales.

Inter want to sign an attacking midfielder. They’re aiming for a forward player who has a different style than the players they already have, and who can help facilitate a shift to a 3-4-2-1 system.
