Inter Milan plan to sign a midfielder and a defender before the transfer window closes, with Oumar Solet their top target.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

There are now fewer than two weeks to go in the summer transfer window.

Inter have made three signings so far. But ever since then, they’ve been unable to complete any more deals.

That does not mean that the Nerazzurri have not tried. They have been chasing Ademola Lookman for more than a month.

However, with Atalanta’s intransigence in negotiations, Inter’s interest in Lookman appears to be fading.

According to SportMediaset, Inter will sign a midfielder and a defender before the window closes.

In midfield, the priority is to sign a player comfortable in a box-to-box or holding role. They want a player with a similar profile to Roma’s Manu Kone.

This would help facilitate the transition to Cristian Chivu’s 3-4-2-1 system with a double pivot.

Then, Mediaset report, Inter are also keen to sign a defender before the transfer window slams shut.
