Inter Milan target Jonathan David has confirmed that he will leave Lille on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The Canadian international spoke to Onze Mondial, via FCInterNews. He stated that he will announce his decision soon.
For months it has looked as though Jonathan David would be one of the big free transfer opportunities of the coming summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old’s contract with Lille expires at the end of June.
And despite the Ligue 1 club’s efforts to convince him to sign a new deal, David has not done so.
Therefore, David will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season. And in fact, he is free to negotiate with any club towards joining this summer.
Inter Milan have been one of the clubs most strongly linked with David’s signature.
However, given the Canadian’s contract situation and age, there is plenty of competition.
Asked about his future, striker Jonathan David gave a blunt answer. “Yes, I’ll leave on a free transfer at the end of the season,” the Canadian said.
“And as far as my future, I hope to grow,” David said. “To become a better, and play at the top clubs in the world. if I can.”

“First of all, though, I just want to enjoy myself,” added the 25-year-old.
“And never forget that football is about fun.”
And as far as clues about the future, David said that “You’ll all known when the time is right.”
“That’s at the end of the season.”
“I’m not going to comment before then,” said the Canadian international.
“First of all, I want to end this season well. The finale promises to be exciting, and I want to play well and help the team out.”
“Then when the season is over, my decision will be made and announced.”
