Amidst talk that Hakan Calhanoglu will depart the club, Inter Milan are ready to give summer arrival Petar Sucic a chance in the first team straight away.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the 21-year-old has impressed Inter’s hierarchy since joining from Dinamo Zagreb and could be fast-tracked into being a regular option in the new campaign.
Whilst coach Christian Chivu will continue to deploy a three-man midfield of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Calhanoglu if he remains, Sucic has shown enough to be considered a rotational option and could seize his change if Inter deploy a two-man midfield.
Indeed, he is considered ready to operate alongside Barella as a pair and fits the role better than Mkhitaryan and Calhanoglu, whilst his experience of partnering the iconic Luka Modric for Croatia has also not gone unnoticed.
Inter have plenty of options in the middle, with Davide Frattesi also due back from injury, but there is confidence that Sucic can make a significant impact in his debut season in Serie A.
