As Barcelona gear up for their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Inter Milan, reports from Mundo Deportivo have highlighted the pressure mounting on the Italian club to get Marcus Thuram fit in time for the big match.
Inter Milan, once the undisputed leaders of Serie A, have seen their form take a sharp dive in recent days, leaving them struggling ahead of this crucial encounter with Barça.
Just a few days ago, Inter were sitting comfortably at the top of the league, but consecutive defeats—first to Bologna in the Serie A and then to AC Milan in the Coppa Italia—have thrown their season into turmoil.
These setbacks, along with Napoli catching up to them in the league, have severely affected both their confidence and overall form.
Thuram’s absence has been particularly felt. The French forward suffered an adductor injury to his left thigh during the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, and Inter have been unable to fully recover without him.

Reports from Italy have emphasised that “without Thuram, there’s nothing left,” highlighting his importance to the team.
His partnership with Lautaro Martinez has been central to Inter’s attacking play, and coach Simone Inzaghi is under pressure to ensure Thuram is at his best when Barcelona come calling.
With five more days to prepare, Inter are focusing all their efforts on getting Thuram back to full fitness. His return is seen as essential if they hope to challenge Barcelona in what promises to be a highly competitive semi-final.
However, given the recent struggles and the timing of Thuram’s injury, it remains to be seen how effective the Inter attack will be against one of Europe’s strongest teams.
For Barcelona, the news of Inter’s struggles and Thuram’s potential absence could be a welcome advantage, but for now, everything is uncertain for the Italian side.
