Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has sent heartwarming New Year’s wishes to the Nerazzurri faithful after a remarkable 2024.
Speaking to FCInterNews while on a flight to Saudi Arabia, Marotta outlined the club’s lofty ambitions for 2025.
The defending Serie A champions will take on Atalanta in a mouth-watering Supercoppa Italiana semi-final tie on Thursday.
Simone Inzaghi’s men had already departed for Riyadh, seeking a fourth consecutive Super Cup trophy.
Despite carrying a favorite tag, Inter can ill-afford to underestimate the task awaiting them at the Kingdom Arena.
Indeed, they’ll be up against a high-flying Atalanta side.
However, Inter dismantled Gian Piero Gasperini’s charges 4-0 in their league encounter at the start of the season.
Little did anyone know La Dea would embark on an incredible domestic run after that fiasco.
Gasperini’s lads have since won 12 of their 15 top-flight outings to ascend the Serie A throne.
Though Atalanta head to the Middle East in formidable form, Inter remain a team to beat.
Inzaghi oversaw a fifth consecutive league win ‘to nil’ last weekend at Cagliari, moving his side within a point from La Dea.
Overall, 2024 has been a memorable year for the Nerazzurri.
In addition to lifting their 20th Scudetto last term, they’ve established himself as one of Europe’s best clubs.
Beppe Marotta hopes they’ll stay on this trajectory in the calendar year.
“Certainly, it’s a wonderful feeling to be at this altitude and speak with you,” he said.
“Everything here is going very well – the players are resting comfortably and enjoying the high-quality travel experience.
“We’re wrapping up 2024 full of immense satisfaction, and a new chapter is about to begin.
“On behalf of everyone at Inter, I want to extend our warmest wishes for a 2025 filled with health and happiness.
“May the new year bring us Interisti even greater achievements than the remarkable ones we reached in 2024.”
