Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta says the Nerazzurri’s Serie A match against Fiorentina was postponed due to the “delicate situation” with Edoardo Bove.

The Nerazzurri President reacted to Bove’s shock health emergency speaking to DAZN, via FCInterNews, and expressed the hope that he can recover quickly.

Today’s Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi took a shocking turn.

Just after the fifteen minute mark, Fiorentina midfielder Edoard Bove collapsed unexpectedly.

The Italian international went down away from the action, and not under contact. Reportedly he was tying his shoe at the time.

It was immediately apparent that Bove had suffered a medical emergency of some kind.

Both the Fiorentina and Inter players were distraught at the realization of what had happened. Several players were visibly in tears.

Eventually, Bove was transported to hospital to receive further treatment.

Reportedly, the Fiorentina midfielder has regained consciousness in hospital.

The decision arrived to postpone the match after the shocking incident. With the solemn atmosphere and so many players in a shellshocked mood, no one wanted to continue.

Marotta: “Fiorentina Vs Inter Postponed Due To Delicate Situation”

Inter President Marotta said of the situation that “I want to show that all of us at Inter are behind him.”

“The players, the staff, and the fans. But also, the world of football in general.”

“We’re a community,” Marotta said.

“When we experience a delicate and negative moment like this we have to come together.”

Marotta stressed that Bove is “only 22 years old.”

“We hope that he can recover quickly, and get back to his best.”

“At the same time, the decision to postpone the match was made spontaneously by the players, the referees, and the technical staff due to the very delicate situation.”

“I don’t know the details well,” Marotta noted. “But there was evidently immediate intervention from everyone.”

“I hope that everything can be resolved in the best way after this dramatic situation,” Marotta said.
