Inter Milan are not the only big team to have dropped points this weekend, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Arsenal all slumping.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan’s weekend certainly did not go the way that they envisioned it.

The Nerazzurri conceded twice to throw away a 2-0 advantage in the second half against Parma.

This has naturally invited all sorts of criticisms and doubts.

Above all, the question has been whether Inter are capable of coping with the pressure of fighting on multiple fronts all season long.

There would be little argument that Inter Milan are not a formidable team at their best.

But the team looks stretched thin when they have to play in not just Serie A, but also the Coppa Italia and Champions League, week in, week out.

However, as the Gazzetta highlight, that seems to be true of every team.

Not Just Inter – Real Madrid, Barcelona & Arsenal All Drop Points

The reality is that every big team aims to play as many matches as possible.

That comes with the territory of going far in the Champions League.

And this weekend gave a demonstration of the toll that can take on every team.

In La Liga, Real Madrid fell to a 1-2 defeat against Valencia. Meanwhile, Barcelona had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw with Real Betis.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could not hold onto an advantage of their own, drawing 1-1 with Everton.

Those are disappointing results for any of those teams, who will feel that with the squads that they have, they should be winning virtually all their matches.

But as with Inter, the strain, exhaustion, and fitness problems from having to juggle domestic and European commitments has caught up with them.
