Inter Milan have identified five potential replacements for aging defensive pair Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

Italian transfer reporter Niccolo Ceccarini names Sam Beukema, Jaka Bijol, Koni De Winter, Isak Hien, and Mario Gila as possible replacements from Serie A in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb.

It is no secret that Inter Milan defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are not getting any younger.

Acerbi turned 37 this season. Meanwhile, de Vrij is 33.

The two former Lazio defenders have just about remained reliable at the back this season.

But there remain big questions about how much longer Acerbi and de Vrij can keep this up.

Moreover, both Acerbi and de Vrij see their contracts expire at the end of June.

Inter will certainly look to make a minimum of one defensive signing this summer.

The Nerazzurri will want to sign a player with a similar style to Acerbi and de Vrij. Furthermore, Serie A experience would be a big asset.

Bologna defender Sam Beukema looks to be a major target for Inter.

Then, Udinese’s Jaka Bijol has been on the Nerazzurri’s radar for more than a year. They have so far balked at the asking price, however.
