Lillian Thuram was one of the world’s best defenders in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Indeed, he was a star in Serie A, donning the shirts of Juventus and Parma.

Meanwhile, his sons are following in his footsteps.

While Marcus Thuram runs the show at Giuseppe Meazza, Khephren Thuram is making strides at Juventus.

The former has become a stalwart for the Nerazzurri since joining the club in the summer of 2023.

During his brief spell in Serie A, he has turned into one of Europe’s most sought-after center-forwards.

However, Inter have no intention of letting the 27-year-old leave despite growing interest from top foreign clubs.

Marcus Thuram Opens Up on Lillian Thuram Influence on His Game

“I watch all my matches with him,” he admitted. “I have to, to understand what I did well and what I did badly, which, when I talk to him, is a lot.

“That way, I learn a lot from my mistakes for the next game.

“I think my father went beyond, sometimes he was tougher than he needed to be, to balance out this way of life.”

Thuram also explained his relationship with his brother Khephren.

“I was six years old. He made me understand that when he was talking, I had to be quiet,” he claimed.

“He was like a father, you knew you couldn’t joke around with him, you just had to do the right things.”

Simone Inzaghi sees Thuram as a vital first-team member at Inter.

However, the Frenchman’s national team career has yet to take off.

Despite his international struggles, Thuram has established himself as a permanent fixture in Didier Deschamps’ set-up.

Indeed, he and Kylian Mbappe are among Les Bleus’ standout names.

Asked whether he enjoys making fun of the Real Madrid megastar, Thuram replied: “A lot, every time I can.

“I was at Clairefontaine, and he’s a year younger than me, I saw him arrive at the football academy.

“So, this habit of teasing him stuck. Does he do it too? He can’t, I’m from the second year. It’s just the way it is.”
