The hapless Canarini had no answer for the Nerazzurri who ran riots at the Benito Stirpe on Friday night.

Davide Frattesi, Marko Arnautovic, Tajon Buchanan, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram were all on the score sheet.

After the match, Inzaghi was asked to comment on several topics, including his contract.

The coach’s current deal is only valid until 2027, but the club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio suggested that signing an extension is only a formality at this point.

“Are five minutes enough to sign a new deal? Probably,” replied Inzaghi with a laugh in his post-match press conference via FcInterNews.

“You all know what a great rapport I have with the club. I’m in contact with Ausilio, Marotta and Baccin on a daily basis.

“The main protagonists of this season are the players, but the management and the president helped us from afar.”

The 48-year-old also feels that he has finally won over the hearts of the Nerazzurri faithful.

“I’m happy they consider me one of them. It took us a little while to get to know each other and now I feel appreciated by them.

“I have always appreciated them for their attachment. There have been great moments and others that were less brilliant. But they have always been there.”

Regarding the match, Inzaghi saw positive signals for several players, including those who played less during the season.

“We saw so many good signs tonight. I got the answers I wanted. I didn’t need confirmation from those who had less space, but they deserved some personal satisfaction.

“Excellent answers from Arnautovic, Buchanan and Frattesi. Moreover, Lautaro returned to scoring.

“Then we have Asllani who is developing a lot and he deserves more space. We played him in delicate matches and he did well.

“I’m happy with everyone, but I said a few more words on Asllani because he deserves it.”

Buchanan scored his maiden goal for the club, and Inzaghi explained why he’s playing on the left flank rather than his original role on the right wing.

“Buchanan fitted in well. He played mostly on the right in the past. But at the moment, we have Dumfries, Darmian and Cuadrado there.

“Thus, playing him on the left is a bit out of necessity, but I also like him in this position.”

Finally, the Nerazzurri coach talked about planning for next season and the unforgettable Scudetto celebrations.

“In football, we always need to improve and we will try to do so. Now we have two more games that we care about, then we will sit down and think about next season.

“As far as the celebrations, it was a unique feeling. It’s something that will remain with us. I knew that we would make millions of Inter fans happy and for this reason, it is the ‘Scudetto of joy’.

“We thank the fans because they created something unique and sensational.”
