The Nerazzurri coach addressed the club’s plans in a press conference after today’s draw with Genoa, as reported by FCInterNews.

There are still two more weeks to go before the summer transfer window slams shut.

That is plenty of time for Inter to do more business, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

The Nerazzurri have had a relatively subdued transfer window thus far. Particularly in comparison to last summer’s absolute whirlwind of activity.

And it looks likely that that will continue to be the case.

But that does not mean that Inter’s business is quite done just yet.

And in fact, the Nerazzurri are not making any secret of the fact that there is one more signing that they want to make.

Inter President Beppe Marotta openly admitted that the club are working to sign a defender before the end of the window.

The President says that the priority is to sign a young defender with a profile similar to that of Yann Bisseck.

Simone Inzaghi Confirms Inter Milan Looking For A Defender

Inzaghi said that Inter “have made our decisions” as far as transfer plans go.

“At wingback we have Dimarco, Augusto, Dumfries, and Darmian. And then we’ll have Buchanan back some time between November and December.”

“We’re in a good spot in those areas.”

“But we’re looking for a defender,” Inzaghi confirmed. “The choice to go for that over a wingback is one I made in agreement with the club.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi admitted that the mood after this evening’s draw with Genoa is “regret and disappointment.”

“The guys played a good, focused match. But we gave up two cheap goals, and then it’s never easy to win.”

“We were up against a great team,” Inzaghi continued. “We played a good first half and conceded with their only shot on target.”

“In the second half I decided to go with three strikers. We started out slowly but then built.”

“After scoring in the 84th minute we had to stay composed and switched on, but instead we made an error and conceded the penalty for 2-2.”

“We team like ours shouldn’t be conceding like that,” Inzaghi said.
