Lautaro Martinez says that he’s “proud Inter Milan have earned everyone’s respect” ahead of the Champions League final against PSG.
The Nerazzurri captain spoke in the official matchday programme for the final, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are in the final of the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
The Nerazzurri’s last run to the final did perhaps come against a relatively beatable pathway through the knockout rounds. They took on the likes of Porto, Benfica, and AC Milan.
However, Inter put in an excellent display in the final against Manchester City, even in defeat.
And now the Nerazzurri are here once again. They face Paris Saint-Germain in the final in Munich.
Inter have had to beat teams like Bayern Munich and Barcelona to get here.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri secured memorable wins against the likes of Arsenal, RB Leipzig, and Monaco in the league phase of the competition.
There is now little doubt that this is the level at which Inter belong.
