Inter Milan and Betsson are on the cusp of reaching a final agreement for next season, but must work their way around a hurdle.
As we reported yesterday, the Italian giants have chosen the Swedish company to become their next main shirt sponsor.
If it all goes according to plan, Betsson will replace Paramout+. The club’s deal with the American streaming service will expire at the end of the season.
The betting company has reportedly splashed competition out of the water by offering Inter 30 million euros per season for the next five years. Qatar Airways were unable to match these figures.
But as Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) explains, Italian laws prohibit clubs from displaying the names of betting companies on their kits.
This is due to the country’s so-called “Dignity Decree”.
Nevertheless, the source believes that this decree could be scrapped in the summer. This would be a timely occurrence for the Nerazzurri, as it will entirely solve the issue.
However, if it were to remain in effect, then the two parties would have to find a solution.
In this case, the Turin-based newspaper expects Inter and Betsson to agree on placing another commercial name, one that wouldn’t breach the aforementioned rule.
Thus, the two parties could simply decide to place “StarCasinò” on the club’s shirt.
Moreover, the source expects StarCasinò Sport to replace Leo Vegas as the club’s official betting partner as part of the agreement with Betsson.
